Welcome to Wylam First School

"Teaching is outstanding because it is consistently good and often exemplary and this is giving pupils the confidence to learn." Ofsted Inspection report, November 2008

The staff, pupils, parents and governors were all delighted to recieve the Outstanding Schools Award in the recent Ofsted inspection.  We believe it is down to the hard work and commitment of staff, pupils, parents and governors and the broader Wylam community who support the school enabling the staff to broaden and enrich the school's curriculum.  Additionally, we are proud to be part of the network of Creative Partnership Schools which has supported us in our journey of bringing an even greater amount of purposeful learning and creativity into our schools, helping us to achieve our goals.
Thank you and we sincerely hope everyone will continue to support us!

Here at Wylam First School we are aiming to promote thoughtful/better learners through The Learning Challenge.  The Learning Challenge is delivered through ten key skills.  We believe learners equipped with these skills will be confident and creative, reflective and collaborative in tackling new learning challenges.  The skills will be with them and help them through life in coming to grips with new knowledge. Click on the link The Learning Challenge to find out more about these ten skills and what it means to be a good learner....
