Welcome to Wylam First School

Here at Wylam First School we are aiming to promote thoughtful/better learners through The Learning Challenge.  The Learning Challenge is delivered through ten key skills.  We believe learners equipped with these skills will be confident and creative, reflective and collaborative in takling new learning challenges.  The skills will be with them and help them through life in coming to grips with new knowledge. Click on the link The Learning Challenge to find out more about these ten skills and what it means to be a good learner....

What a Day!

The Year 4's at Wylam First School attended fun-filled, all inspiring day of music making with Cleveland Watkiss, the jazz vocalist and band.  The event was organised by the Sage, Gateshead as part of Sing up and the Music Manifesto National Singing Programme.

"It was great to watch the children develop in confidence throughout the workshop, really feeling the rhythm of the music, and expressing themselves through song and scat singing." Linda Cooper, Year 4 Class Teacher.
