Welcome to Early Years!
In the Early Years Unit we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, learning through play. We provide lots of stimulating resources in our classroom and the outdoor area so we are always busy playing and learning together. Throughout the year, staff will use the children’s ideas and interests to create interesting and challenging activities covering all ‘Areas of Learning and Development’ in the EYFS. The aim is to make learning fun and therefore keep the children motivated while keeping an eye on the essential learning goals. Some of these activities will be child-initiated and some adult-led.
The reception teachers are Mrs Jukes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and Mrs Long on Thursday and Friday. Working alongside us in Reception are Mrs Liddle, Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Theobold our teaching assistants who many of you will already know. In Nursery Mrs. Channon and Mrs Heffernan look after the children.
