Wylam Community Orchard

Planted in the grounds of Wylam First School at the end of the playing field area in the winter of 2010/2011, Wylam Community Orchard is a glorious example of true community work and collaboration. Numerous volunteers have donned warm and protective clothing to cut back brambles, create composting areas, prepare the ground and plant 64+ trees on various working days.

Community Orchard Success!

Our Wild Flower Meadow was entered for the LOVE Northumberland Award and has WON its category, Best New Project! The £250 prize was presented by the Duchess of Northumberland at a ceremony hosted by Carol Malia on Wednesday night at Alnwick Gardens. It was a wonderful evening, and the committee would like to say a BIG thank you to everyone who has contributed to the wild flower meadow.
