Orchard
Wylam Community Orchard
Planted in the grounds of Wylam First School at the end of the playing field area in the winter of 2010/2011, Wylam Community Orchard is a glorious example of true community work and collaboration. Numerous volunteers have donned warm and protective clothing to cut back brambles, create composting areas, prepare the ground and plant 64+ trees on various working days.

Past Events – Orchard Open Day
An Apple blossom Picnic was held on Saturday 21 April . Picnic baskets and blankets were packed and all headed to the Orchard to see the trees that were planted at the WOOD day.
A great big THANKS to everyone who helped, sang, baked, preserved toured or turned to our open day.
The sun shone and everyone looked like they were having a good time.
Willow wands, singers and the tours seemed particularily popular as did the pims meal deal and the dutch apple cake.

A series of dates for workdays throughout the year has been put together occuring every 2 or 3 weeks, alternating between Saturdays and Sundays, between 1pm and 3pm. This will help to keep on top of watering, pest control, weeding grass cutting, etc.
