Our School

Our school is situated to the east of the village of Wylam in a very pleasant setting overlooking the Tyne Valley. There has been a school at Wylam for well over a hundred years, but the present building was opened in May 1974.  It is a purpose built First School comprising five classrooms, a hall, kitchen, administrative area and a 26 place nursery.  The school has an excellent playing field, which is used extensively throughout the year.

Mission Statement

  • We value the unique qualities of all individuals, promoting honesty and tolerance.
  • We provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment to maximize the achievement of all children and foster a love of learning.
  • Through careful planning of differentiated activities we build on skills, ensure equal opportunities and aim for high standards.
  • We actively promote the development of children’s thinking skills by encouraging questioning and reasoning across the curriculum. We believe these skills help to prepare children for life in the 21st Century.

School Choir
