Wylam First School is situated to the east of the village of Wylam in a lovely setting overlooking the Tyne Valley.
There has been a school at Wylam for well over a hundred years, but the present building was opened in May 1974. It is a purpose built First School comprising five classrooms, a hall, kitchen, administrative area and a 26 place nursery. The school has an excellent playing field, an allotment, a community orchard and a wild meadow all of which are used extensively throughout the year.
The school has a single form entry (each year group has its own class) and the number on roll is usually around 150 – 160. At present we have 160 children.
Occasionally year groups are over -subscribed but we usually have one or two space places available. Please contact us if you are looking for an in-term place for your child and we will let you know if we have places available.
We have a 26 place teaching nursery which is open every morning 9am -12am.
